Sustaining engagement with partners and stakeholders requires a significant on-going commitment – involving them in planning, implementation, and evaluation. This will be critical to acceptance and the success of your adaptation plans.

Sub tasks:

Refresh stakeholder engagement plan
- The stakeholder engagement plan should be reviewed alongside any update to strategic plans/ theory of change (WT4A Further develop and maintain partnership working).
- Reflect on progress with engaging different stakeholder groups. Identify successes and failures and document learning.
- Identify stakeholders who should be engaged in delivering any new partnership activities / projects.
Review planned projects and activities and ensure that appropriate resources have been assigned to stakeholder engagement.
- It is easy to overlook and underestimate the resources required for effective stakeholder engagement. Review the projects being developed and consider whether appropriate resources have been assigned to engage stakeholders effectively as part of project planning, design and implementation.
- Consider whether effective plans are in place to ensure that vulnerable groups are effectively included in stakeholder engagement processes.
Share regular updates on adaptation progress with internal and external stakeholders.
- Issue regular newsletters and website updates and share these widely.
- Work with communication colleagues to identify newsworthy elements of your adaptation plans and actions.
- Promote any adaptation action plans and or actions that are agreed for implementation , for example hold events with high profile supporters and work with communication colleagues to issue a press release and develop supporting information.
